Nightmares

Normally I'm not partial to darker photography, but this is what came together. It reminds me of a nightmare because it seems rare that a "Merry Go Round" could display such horror. That's how it is with most nightmares; clam and gentle things can become so frightening in just a matter of minutes. Then you wake up, and all is back to normal.

  1. There is a really interesting thing going on between the two different triptychs when I see them side by side. The top set really does inspire the terror of a nightmare, and the bottom set has a wonderfully romantic dream like quality too. Some how when we look at them together the warmth of the bottom triptych still has an element of wild fear, as if we fear at any moment the wonderful dream will turn nightmarish. I am really enjoying the blown out light and movement in the right picture of the bottom set :)

  2. Very beautiful. I do like the portrayal of the two triptychs together and the sensations from each. Great work!
